PURPOSE
Originally the “DECLARATION OF INTENT” was the basic legal requirement one needed to get married. Now it can serve as a way to begin the ceremony, complete the CHARGE, or flow into the VOWS.

PLACEMENT
Depending on the the wording it can go right before the VOWS or OPENING REMARKS

In unique situations, and only using wording like OPTION #5, the DECLARATION OF INTENT can be placed after the VOWS. This is the case when the Bride & Groom write their own vows and want something more traditional as well
